Nutrabaits News July 2008
A bit of an Animal!
Italian Nutrabaits fieldtester and owner of The Carp & Co Tackle shop in Rieti, Antonio Di Reinzo is no stranger to big fish, but even he was slightly taken aback by the recent capture of his 30.2 kilo fish from Rainbow Lake.
The mirror which, for those of you who still work in old money weighed just under 66lbs 8oz, fell for home rolled Trigga with elevated levels of Green Lipped Mussel Extract, Pineapple Nutrafruit and N-Butyric Acid.
What an awesome animal it is too!
Close Call
French fieldtester Olivier Soulier had a dreadful experience on a Stillwater near Limoges, the boat he was using to transport himself and all his gear upended in 10m of freezing cold water! Thankfully Olivier’s friend, and fellow Nutrabaits fieldtester, Samuel Salamagnon was on hand to help him to safety. Obviously Olivier is gutted by the loss of all his gear, but I guess things could have been a lot worse. Thank god you are safe my friend!
Anyway our hero has been back at it with a bit of borrowed gear and has taken several good fish in recent weeks on both Pink Pepper and Pineapple And N-Butyric Acid alternative hookbait pop ups.
Shumbar Stunners
The beautiful country of Croatia is a relatively unknown quantity for big carp, but judging by these two stunners caught from the popular Shumbar Lake, it could well be worth serious consideration. Our first Shumbar biggy comes courtesy of Tomislav Dzmura from the city of Karlovac who has taken the new lake record at 58-03 on a Trigga Ice readymade boilie and secondly comes his mate, who goes by the terrific name of Yury Begalov, and who has enjoyed considerable success on double 20mm Trigga fished in conjunction with stiff rigs. Yury’s fish weighs in at 54-04; his third fish in excess of 44lbs in only three sessions.

The Austrian Solution
The ever consistent Andreas Karrer from Graz in Austria has had his first trip of the year to an exclusive ‘invitation only’ gravel pit and has been rewarded with a stunning 42-10 common. Andreas is one of a number of our fieldtesters who have been enjoying considerable success on The Solution; a lipid based bait soak that we have been working on for the last couple of years or so. Successful tactics for Andreas on this occasion being two 20mm Trigga ready mades pre-soaked in The Solution and fished over a bed of mixed Trigga Boilies and pellets.
The Big Horseshoe Common
Big news from The Carp Society’s Horseshoe Lake is that the big common, that has apparently avoided capture for twelve months has been caught at 42-04 by Adrian Underwood on Trigga freezer baits rolled for him by Rollin Baits. Ade used 3kg of baits during his visit and the big common fell for a 20mm ‘straight from the bag’ bottom bait that had been pre-soaked in prototype Solution Liquid. Fantastic result this one, on one of the best baits imaginable.
Big Common for Big John on Big Fish
Our old mate Big John Patterson has certainly spent a considerable amount of time covered in slime in the last year or so and his latest success comes in the shape of a new personal best common at 37-12 from syndicate water he has been targeting since last June. Bait on this occasion was the ever consistent Big fish Mix, with the common and two mirrors at 31 plus and 35 plus falling to snowmen presentations made from a standard bottom bait and one of Lee Lagen’s (Hookers) highly rated BFM Pop Ups.
More from Big John very soon we suspect!
Goncourt PB's
Long-time Staffordshire carp angler Phil Timmins smashed his personal best three times during a recent week long session on Traque Lake on the Goncourt complex in sunny France. Trigga snowmen presentations fished over mixed shelf-life Trigga Boilies and Trigga pellets producing a common of 38lbs and mirrors of 44lbs and 55lbs. Superb result from a water we hear very good things about.

Three Dimensional Lump
The ever-consistent Stijn Borghmans from Belgium has been doing, what he does best, on the notoriously tough Albert Canal near his home and has been rewarded with an old warrior affectionately known as Harry. Harry took a liking for Stijn’s home rolled 3D with 3D liquid and a squirt of two of the awesome Sea Monster UTCS flavour. The weight was a mightily impressive 46-04. A superb fish on - dare we say - a superb bait!
G-Force success for Super Duper
Our new G-Force bait is certainly beginning to cause something of a stir amongst our field testing team and the pictures are now starting to filter through. Our old mate Super Duper Andy Cooper was one of the first off the mark with the revolutionary new mix and liquid combo and we have pictured him this month with a thirty plus common and a twenty plus mirror…..just two fish from a cracking start to his 2008 campaign. All Andy’s fish coming from an un-named Cheshire venue.

Big News from Over the Pond
New York Nutrabaits user, Joel Harber has been putting our gear to particularly good use in recent weeks over in The USA, taking a very impressive seven fish in only nine daylight hours from a water close to his home (Now that’s what you call having a nice day!). Joel reports his success on PVA bags stuffed full of mini 3D Pellets and broken up 20mm Shelf life Boilies. We have pictured Joel this month with a very striking looking common of 42-07.
More Fun on Top!
Nutrabaits stalwarts Brian Skoyles and Graham Drewery from Humberside have always been partial to a spot of surface fishing and a recent session on a North Lincolnshire stillwater has shown quite clearly that the boys ain’t lost their touch one bit. Graham rather shrewdly left the mixer preparation to ‘Chum Master Skoyles’ who speedily knocked up some of his finest, flavoured with a combo including Nutramino, Multimino, Sweet Cajouser and Wonderfruit and the duo promptly accounted for eleven on the lakes finest to just over twenty pounds. Quality stuff!

Honesty is the Best Policy
I know it’s difficult to believe, but we have it on good authority that some of our competitors have, in the past, claimed fish caught on imitation hookbaits on their own gear….not really our way of doing things, we would rather report things as accurately and honestly as we can!
Speaking of which, Hull angler Matt Hope has done rather well recently over on Maison De Lac Bleu on plastic hookbaits that he used to combat the huge numbers of crayfish that inhabit the lake. Best two fish of the week being a 50-04 common and a 60-11 mirror from Pirouet.
The good news from our point of view though, is that Matt was using the old ‘plastic fantastics’ over beds of our new G-Force Boilies and Trigga Bag mix.

We also hear whispers that similar tactics produced a brace of fifties, topped by a 57 plus for Clive Gibbins from the same lake. Now, we wouldn’t like to be the ones to spread malicious rumours, but we did also hear that the second of the silver fox’s fish was poached from somebody else’s swim….surely not!!
Hampshire Haulin'
Pics just arrived from the last weekend of the season from Hampshire big fish man Shaun Baxter. Mirrors of 36-04, 35-12 and a common of 22lbs all falling to home rolled Big Fish Mix with Wonderfruit Under The Counter Special Flavour. All Shaun’s fish coming from a gravel pit close to his home. A nice end to an especially good season for yet another happy Nutrabaits user!
