Now the 2019/2020 season is over it is time to reflect on another very memorable season making memories with friends old and new, learning from some of the best in the angling industry.
I’ve always had an obsession with angling and catching as many species as possible and this season I ticked off many species my brother and grandfather world be very proud of.
Roach
Another
species I concentrated a fair bit of time to, firstly on the stick float then a
little more advanced tactics with some help from Archie Braddocks and the Roach
master Michael Townsend. With what I learned from these guys I went
on and caught the biggest roach to ever be recorded off the Trent a true giant.
This capture was also a very significant because my wife grandfather passed away and Roach was his favourite species and it’s safe to say, he was looking down on me and sent a parting gift.
The Lady
of the stream
They are truly magnificent beautiful fish and having the opportunity to fish the iconic River Itchin for them was a trip I will never forget.
Perch
These fish are one of my favourites, and this season they have been extra kind to me catching several good 3lb+ Perch from a few different venues.
Chub
The Chub
fishing for me this season as been slow but I have caught a few and a very big
Chub from a small river which was rewarding.
Zander
Now, this is a species that I really struggle to get my head around and after trying for a full month on the Trent I only managed one fish and it’s safe to say there is some unfinished business here.
Last but
not the least Barbel
Each
season I think there is no way I can beat the previous season, but this
season with all the extra water the Barbel have fed constantly and massively
packed the weight on helping me up to my personal achievement to 18lb2oz with a
ridiculous amount of other big Barbel too.
Overall
it’s been one of my best ever seasons not only catching many species of my
dreams but also landing 4 Drennan weekly wins a childhood dream and something I
know deep down I will never come this close again.
The
remarkable thing about this season is apart from the predators I caught all
these true giants of freshwater using Nutrabaits River Plus range and to
achieve so much with a bait I helped design makes it even more of an
achievement and ultra proud.
I can’t thank Nutrabaits and Daiwa enough for their ongoing support and encouragement, you guys have to helped me achieve so many personal goals and I thank you sincerely for everything.
