Well it’s hard to believe that it’s now over 12 months since I returned
to the Nutrabaits family. As I pen this piece, its actually 15 months and I
have just finished my 2023 Spring campaign. I won’t bore you with how and why I
came back to Nutrabaits as this has been well documented on video as well as
the written word. Suffice to say those who know me and know the way I go about
my carp fishing, know that I don’t cut corners. With Richard and Jason at the
helm, the main focus is always “QUALITY”, which has once again been
re-established as the number one in everyday life at Nutrabaits HQ. Any bait can
catch an odd big un but trust me with over 47 years chasing my carp dreams, I
know a good bait, but the track record of the fab four at Nutrabaits, Trigga,
Trigga Ice, BFM and Co-De, speak for themselves. In fact, the biggest conundrum
for me when back in the fold was which one to choose. As I’m a ‘bank tramp’
these days and fish for carp all year round, I decided on the Trigga Ice and my
oh my…what a choice I made. My results on this bait along with the dedicated
liquid booster have been outstanding. That’s from an angler whose had a few
over the years. In a carp world where there are now big uns galore to have a go
at, in those 15 months I’ve had 17 carp over 40lb and three over the magic 50+,
all from the UK and none from the Mecca venues such as Grenville and Holme Fen.
All this despite the worst 12 months of my life for running health repairs…if
you can call a heart attack and two CTS operations (carpal tunnel) on each hand
LOL

Seriously, the actual content of Trigga Ice captures have been so consistent that I would claim it is the best bait I have ever used. Now before I get lambasted for saying that, without using every other bait to compare it with, all I ever write and say are my own personal opinions, BUT and it is a big BUT that is based on captures not unfounded claims. The real point of valuating your bait is two-fold to me. It is based on confidence and catches.
The first is fuelled by the second. The more I catch the more my confidence soars. Now this is not a technical written piece on the ingredients of Trigga Ice, that is taken care of by the guys in the factory, however the proliferation of oleoresins are absolutely the main reason I love the bait. This allows the carp to be stimulated prior to them ingesting the bait and that is a vital plus of any bait. This promotes them to actual look for the bait over other boilies and my results substantiate that.
Last November in cold-water conditions I managed a U.K. 20, 30, 40 and amazingly a 50+ during a 48hr session. Something I thought I’d never do again. Well how wrong I was when I only emulated in the Spring of this year with the two biggest two being 41+ and 53+ in the same session. This after sessions also producing numerous 20’s and 30’s and in consecutive sessions a Common of 44+, a Leather of 43+ and a brute of a carp at 48lb. Crazy sized Carp that has seen me have a truly outstanding Spring.
So as the seasons start to change and the Summer is now upon us I get asked all the time about my bait choice and being the old party animal that I am I always do a version of Vanilla Ice and repeat his silly dance and song….
‘Ice, Ice Baby”!
