Nutra-Edge..
Many anglers out there fall into the two main baiting applications; single chod or fill it in Fred!!
I always look at whats coming or going weather wise and the time of year before I commit myself to my baiting!! (Not to mention if the fish are there, I don't want to scare them away with my bait do I??)
Most swims are made up of 3 different areas; dinner table feeding areas, patrol routes in and out and places they like to hold up and chill (whether that's a weed bed or a snag) This is lucky as most of us use 3 rods as a rule.... So with a bit of thought a different baited trap can be done on each area, putting more odds in your favour of getting a bite from each rod.
A pile of bait on a patrol route with just fish passing now and again really isn't the one, but a small trap or single will see you tripping fish up all day long... get the picture??
The bigger your imagination, the more you can do here, we should be smarter than fish as we can read and write, I've never seen a carp with a Parker pen and over 50 plan?? lol!
Bait application is a massive edge, but what suits one day may not suit another or different water for that matter; after a while you see the signs and go very much off your gut feeling.
Chops, large baits and particles all have their place; never put all your eggs in one basket, doing different things also helps you to read whats going on too!
